One fine morning, we decided to skip the school bus and walk to school instead. The weather was spring cool, but the sun added a warm touch. Along the way, we made a spontaneous stop at The Cannon for hot chocolate and we definitely beat the morning rush! The drink was so beautifully presented that my son said, 'It looks too beautiful to drink.' Nevertheless, they enjoyed every sip on our walk to school. We’ll definitely be back to try more from the menu!
Love this place! We have been going here for years (since before their diagonal location move) and they’ve only gotten better with time. Food and coffee are fantastic (waffles are unbelievable). Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and make you feel welcome. They have options for pretty much anyone. Highly recommend this gem!
Hands down the best overall cafe in Hamilton based on food selection, seating, coffee/ espresso pours/ atmosphere. The Cannon nails everything — from the perfectly brewed coffee to their incredible waffles and brunch options. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, SO happy they opened up with this bigger space. the staff are always friendly, and you can tell they really care about quality and community. They’re got Bullard in front of their shop now so rest assured no more vehicles through the other entrance. 11/10

Love this coffee shop. It’s right down the road and we walk there often. The coffee is as good as you can ask for. Breakfast is amazing!! Their Canadian waffle is one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. 100% recomend and the staff are all friendly and it’s very nice inside and well designed.
Stopped here on the way to Niagara Falls for breakfast and the food was exceptional! We tried the fresh veggie sandwich and the harvest brunch waffle! The savory waffle sandwiches were SO good! Highly recommend the harvest sandwich one! Absolutely divine. Their cappuccinos are strong, pairs as the perfect drink for a long drive. Chai latte could use some work, it was more milk than chai.
Great place! Music was pleasant but quiet, and it was a cozy yet modern atmosphere. The service was great, and it was definitely a place I could settle in and spend some time. Staff were wonderful, and the food was great! Photo of the classic waffle.
What an experience! I went in with high expectations but was blown away even so. First of all, the most amazing people work here. Everyone was so kind and welcoming, which is something I especially notice and appreciate now as a hijabi, that we felt like celebrities. They were that incredible. I would come back alone for such a warm and cozy feel. They had a little cubby of books for kids that quickly became very popular with my kids. No amount of flying napkins and food or loud noises phased the staff here. The coffee: We walked away with a jar of coffee beans. The caps we got were creamy, frothy and something magical. You'll find coffee for this price but you won't find coffee like this for this price. 10/10 I want to come back and honour the rest of the coffee menu here. The food: I wasn't ready for this. Ordered the Harvest Brunch. Imagine you are sitting in PEI on a warm summer day and right outside your window, you see the rolling hills of farms where your food was harvested. Your greens are lush and crunchy, the sweet potatoes and zucchini freshly steamed soft and flavourful and your peppers crunchy and sweet. The waffle was crisp with some sauce that was DIVINE! Eggs were soft and delicious. I wanted to share, but I could not. It was unbelievably delicious and the freshness was out of this world. I snuck bites of the sweet waffle from the kids plate and it was equally delicious. I would drive here from an hour away easily for food this level. I can't wait to come back. And bring everyone else who appreciates food as I do to be delighted at the Cannon.
